Dean still covers all areas of the UK while his team of locally based fitting agents are still in training. “As a horse owner I found I had a problem obtaining saddles to fit the way I felt they should fit, I then re-designed the saddles I was working with at the time and contacted a saddle maker who agreed to make saddles to my specifications. Hence Saddle Exchange was born.
Initially after designing my own range of saddles I traveled the country fitting them myself often working 7 days a week and often traveling great distances. Eventually branching out into Scandinavia and other parts of Europe. In fact if you have a saddle fitted by Saddle Exchange more than 4 years ago the chances are it was fitted by me. All this fitting gave me a large amount of experience helping customers and fitting their horses and ponies some with the most demanding fitting issues.
Demand eventually grew to the point that I could not keep up and found it difficult servicing new and existing customers in a timely manner so I set about recruiting and training my team of locally based agents who are specifically trained by myself to fit the saddles I designed. I am pleased to say that we now have 6 fitters in place and 2 more in training, there have been some comings and goings but we now have an excellent team who put our customers and their horses first as well as being very skilled at their job. Over the last few years our customers have seen greater successes which has led to my services being required in other parts of the World other than England.

Gini usually travels and fits with Dean, also an MSFC Qualified Saddle Fitter , Gini also trained at the Cumbria School of Saddlery and has been saddle fitting since early 2005. Both are participating members of the Saddle Research Trust, educating horse owners with their Saddle Awareness Clinics all over Europe.
